“Since going ‘unplugged’ with the Bee-Liners a few years ago, while I've appreciated the relative simplicity of our setup, I've also really missed being able to manipulate my sound with toys, and found myself wishing we could reproduce on stage some of the effects I get in the studio. I tend to gravitate toward the chewy compression and sparkly jangle of my fave guitar bands of yore (you know who they are), and since adding the JangleBox JB2 to my arsenal, in combination with a good acoustic instrument D/I, I am finally able to get the sounds I've been hearing in my head. There's something truly unique about the way the JangleBox combines compression and high frequencies; in bright mode it can really rip your head off, and the sustain is thick and sweet like butterscotch, yet it's still amazingly quiet and transparent. We've used it on acoustic guitar (regular and high strung) and the mountain dulcimer, and double-course instruments like mandolin and bouzouki chime like the Bells of Rhymney. I doubt Monroe would approve, but I'll bet McGuinn would!”
